Suribachi bowl

I happened to looking on another forum and someone was selling a suribachi bowl to use as a shaving bowl. I thought it looked rather nice and a good idea. I don't imagine this is the first time it has been thought of and I was wondering if anyone here has used one to lather. Is it good for lathering? I thought maybe you might get too much air in or perhaps the inside of the bowl may not be sealed so it absorbs water. Anyway, before I go crazy and spend $12 I just thought I would ask for any thoughts.

They work brilliantly. Have one at the moment loaded with a Frankensoap of samples.

Looks like it would make an excellent lather bowl, I prefer slightly steeper edges as I load heavy and have obscenely large brushes (larger than 18mm and not boar) but getting past that it gets my thumbs up for the aesthetic particularly

Yes @todras, I agree steeper edges would be better, especially with your obscenely large brushes!. They do make them larger and slightly steeper.
