Dorko 474

Blackie

The guy from over the ditch
Busy packing up for our house move and discovered a Dorko 474 straight razor.
Needs a clean and a hone though.
Been sitting in it's original box for many years.
Are these worth the bother of polishing, and honing?
If they are just a basic common razor I'll keep it to cut paper with.
TIA.

Depends on condition but Dorko is respected brand so most likely worth cleaning up. Can you post a photo? I'd be interested to have a look. Dorko's are hard to come by generally.

Dorko are very respected razors
never not worth cleaning up a sr8 even if just for the practice, looks like it would clean up ok
the only area of concern is the area of pitting on the edge, best would be to 1st set the bevel & check with some magnification like a 20x loupe or better, if a clean bevel can be achieved then the rest is a winner
