New Aussie Artisan Soap Producer - are you in? *** FREE soaps ***

I recently ordered a tub of the Woolly Wash soap but so far it hasn't turned up. I clicked on the one of the links in one of the threads which took me to the Etsy site. After I had ordered and paid for it, a thing flashed up on the screen saying it was from the Irish Etsy site. Haven't heard anything and I am starting to wonder if I have been scammed.

Has anyone else had any issues?

cheers
Andrew

I've had issues with Etsy like this. You'll get your product, though you might have to wait a while.

That said, there's something iffy going on with Etsy where some purchases mysteriously appear as Etsy Ireland and don't show up on your list of previous purchases under your login. It's enough to persuade me to avoid the platform as much as possible, even though I haven't yet had a truly disappointing purchase.

I definitely would NOT give them my credit card details.

Mate, sorry to hear that! Sounds like etsy might have glitched out. I'll PM you and we'll get it sorted 🙂

@WoollyWunder FYI the wet shaving is from UK

All good - it turns out the issue was good 'ole Australia Post, left off my unit number in the address.

Woolly Wash soap currently in transit.

Quite keen to try it. Wool and woolly stuff seems to be in my life these days as my partner is just starting out on the journey of leaning to spin wool. So we have fleeces and spinning wheels all over the place at the moment. Plus all the knitting bits and pieces.

Might as well continue the theme with shaving.

Many thanks to the lads and lasses at the Woolly Wash Soapery for their excellent customer servcie.

cheers

So you're the reason why I've had an influx of enquiries from the UK and EU! 😂 I wish I could ship there, but their laws around soap are more stringent and I can't at this time.

As a seller, I also find Etsy to be glitchy. I've only been on there about 4-5 months but already had issues where it changed my shipping and fulfilment settings. Ireland seems to be their default location.

For anyone not wanting to go through etsy, soaps are also available at my little website powered by Square:

Happy to help, and glad we got it sorted 😊

Youre right into the sheep lifestyle then! If I had known, I would've sent you a wool sample too haha. You know I've never tried spinning wool, despite living on a sheep station. Adding it to my bucket list.

You might as well make a note of the issue on your Etsy shaving soap web page.

Do you prefer one platform over another (which one charges more fees) I'm happy to buy off which works out the best if there is no difference to me.

That's very thoughtful! For sure the Square site is better in terms of fees. It only charges me a 2% card fee as opposed to about 13-15% on ebay and etsy. The prices are the same across all platforms.

It might also be worth using the QR codes that PayPal so helpfully generates for the benefit of those using the PayPal app. It should be pretty easy to associate such a payment with a physical address.

Thanks for the idea, will have to look into that!
