I get that Australian airlines won't let razor blades in your carry-on luggage (I can throw them in my checked luggage or mail forward), but has anyone experienced any dramas with taking your gelded (bladeless) DE in your hand luggage?
I'm pretty darn confused as the Prohibited Items - Domestic clearly states that razor blades cannot be carried in hand luggage. and it goes on to say:
"The following items may be taken on board in your carry-on bags at the discretion of the security screening officer at the airport:
Are "Safety Razors" referring to modern cartridge razors only or is the original Safety Razor included in this definition? Happy enough to take print-outs of this stuff to argue with airport security - have done so in the past to get my film through without being scanned - as x-rays fog fast films.
Be keen to learn from others experience so I can be sure that my DE razor is not staying at the airport based on airport staff confusing "discretion" with "excusable low IQ".
