To note, it qould be mindful to remember that we all have our own style and preferences and as long as you are happy, there's no wrong way. I'm sure @mantic would agree :)

When mantic starts coming out with crap about 'doctors' telling us how long skin takes to hydrate, well, he just reinforces his dickheadedness.

A stronger reaction than I was expecting ...

To be fair I've included some context around the original post where he indicates 'There are a few variables but for the sake of those just starting out here are some general timeframes.'

My point was that the time he computes (at 14 minutes for what I do) is closer to the 6 or so minutes I was noting than the 20 - 30 that many suggest to newbies for a DE shave.

Just a point to ponder while jokingly taking the piss out of others.

You are expressing forthright opinions on an internet forum about shaving in a fashion which has been deemed old fashioned by the general public for 40 years.

I take it you are referring to shaving rather than forthright opinions @eggbert ?

I have a big birthday looming this year. Don't expect much to change for a while...
Does someone require a group hug (preferably from the person in Jugs image) ?

Which is why - if you're in the business of 'marketing' this thing to people, which he is - you don't do it by making rules and procedures and flow charts, and sounding like a dickhead.

You make it simple. Cos it is. Make the tools sound cool. Boys like that sort of thing. We hate too many instructions. When I'm totally fucked off with the new DVD player/blutooth device - THAT'S when I dig out the manual.

I like Mantic. He's polite, gives balanced reviews and advice, and I learned lots from him when I started out. In fact, I still learn lots from him. I'm not sure it's fair to rubbish him like that on this forum.

I can't believe that I am being the Voice of Reason!

Comes with being a parent mate ....

Just wait till you sound like YOUR parents - it will happen!!!!

The words that have been spoken are public property now. They reflect a little poorly on this site, it's members & Australians in general. We should be a little careful. This is the World Wide Web, not a private phone conversation.

I will respectfully (or not) disagree. One of the strengths of P&C has been the piss taking that occurs with no offense meant and none taken. I have both given and taken and am none the worse for the wear because of it.

You can always tell how much you are loved by an Aussie by how much he mocks you. A part of our national "character" and I'm very much of that mould. But personal name calling goes beyond the good old Aussie mock. All good though. We'll move on mocking, but respecting each other. Now back to our regular program… … …
