The Myrsol Blue.... Mmmm, sounds and looks so good!

Brush: Vintage butterscotch distressed Culmak re-knotted with a TGN finest
Soap/Cream: Mikes Shaving Soaps - Barbershop
Razor: Merkur 37c
Blade: Personna Lab Blue (2)
After-shave: AoS Sandalwood gel

Finally a REAL razor, a razor I can feel like a man when I'm using - nice

Great shave, close but not frightening.

Rolled out the Straight and Narrow again after a break. It's so much more of an art, using a straight, much more concentration involved. I find it more enjoyable, however the results just aren't as good as the R41

Also trotted out the Latha again. Very smooth stuff. This is a different brew to the normal B&M products. I don't remember the samples I had being so soft and creamy, they are more a harder soap - but the soft face feel afterwards is the same. Will's the one if you want a Hotel California …. no no Paste & Cut soap made.

Mate I bought this off @Mark1966 , who had @Pjotr do the reknot, so either of these two fellas is better placed to answer the technical aspects. My understanding is that it is a TGN Finest knot and somewhere in the 18-21mm region. Be honest I was sceptical at first, as it's a small knot but it strikes a nice balance between a nice soft face feel and decent backbone, and easily produces enough lather for 3-4 passes.. Got to say though the handle is excellent for both the face and the bowl. Makes me eye beehives TBH. I got to say I lucked out with this brush....

Just goes to show, you don't need a big brush. Yes, it's a TGN finest. From memory I think it's 20mm.

What grade did you get? Chubby 2?

I went overboard and got the last super as it was below 2nd hand pricing.

Probably best would be just as good but I wanted to make sure that there was going to be flex in the knot.

The super has really controlled backbone but you still are able to make it spread nicely when working up a lather.

So not a chubby chaser then ? [emoji5]️

To be honest I don't like huge feeling knots. Even though the chubby is like 29mm it holds a really compact shape. For me I think it comes down to whether the knot completely spreads flat or holds its shape. The latter is where it's at for me and the 6 brushes I own have this characteristic.

Once more with feeling:
The lucky dip brought out some Strop Shop Teak Wood with Tallow.
Everything else stayed the same as I forgot to swap out the Slick Schick so it had another run.

Good lather good cushion not too excited by the scent - smelt a little sweet to be Teak Wood.
Finished with the TOBs cream and a splash of Pinaud Clubman.

Until we meet again

@Nonick . Just trying to help you here now and not looking to to gain anything for myself (cough, cough). To save you the mental anguish of having to use your straight when it obviously does not perform to the super high standards of your R41, I'm going to humble myself and allow you to give me your straight. Only because I want to help YOU, nothing for me of course (cough, cough).

Mighty Manchurian !

Emperors turn this morning. This was my first high end brush. In the beginning I almost gave it away due to an unpleasant scritch. Now it's definitely a favourite with that velvet scrub and super handle.

Dale your kindness and thoughtful care are second to none! I'll keep your generous offer in mind ;)

Although I restored this straight from a rego sticker remover to a shaver (with a lot of help from Oz), so it has sentimental value - which the R41 lacks..
