While the Myrsol is not being used in alphabetical order (an oversight I will correct by reorganising the drawer) they still work well!

If you haven't tried or heard of Lebelle soaps, you're missing out on one of the best performing soaps out there. I'll do a review, but only tried one scent. The shave properties of this soap are possibly the best I've used. Lathers easy, slicker than Stirling or MWF (big call from me) and cushion for days. Post shave is a let down. Without lanolin or Shea butter or the like, I do get tightening. After Thayers and a balm, you wouldn't notice but would be nice to get one o those into the soap.

During the shave though, this is a fantastic soap.

@Sxot - if sharp but not smooth is your issue, you may well find that the strop is your best friend. 50 laps on fabric followed by 100 laps on leather should make a big improvement. "Smoothness" generally comes from the edge being a little bit rounded, and a strop does a great job of micro-rounding the edge. By all means, start with the best edge you can get from your Jnats then strop the razor until it feels right to you.

It has been a while. Unfortunately my dad passed away two weeks ago to cancer.

My first shave for a week, did a two pass shave with touch up. The soap is just great. I was speaking to a well regarded member of the shave community and he said hands down @Anthony is in the top 5 artisan soap makers in the world and I who has a lot of soap would have to agree (it is in my top 2 and usually would be #1).

@stillshunter who loves the tallow Shaver Heaven so much and his European soaps as well is selling all his American made soaps.

Life is too short, we have a great soap maker as part of this forum, so if you haven't brought one of his tallow soaps yet just do it, you better hurry before @borked buys them all :)

I have a few @Nonick - a roo leather + fabric one, a Japanese Kanayama strop made of cordovan leather, and a home made roo leather strop. The roo leather + fabric strop has been my go to since the beginning. It does a great job, and wasn't expensive (about A$50 on Ebay). Unfortunately, they are no longer available from that maker . You can easily cobble one up cheaply yourself if you're inclined - there is a guy on ebay.com.au who sells strop-sized pieces of Kangaroo leather. All you have to do is figure out how to attach it to a fitting like a towel rail or doorknob. I did it with a narrow strip of leather and a couple of leather press-stud fittings.

I personally like roo leather - it does the job really well and is very reasonably priced. The Kanayama strop is a beautiful thing, and obviously made of top quality materials. It is a little better than my roo strops, but not better enough to justify its steep price tag.

The experimental brush I made with a 24 mm boar knot is really good. I have since turned 2 more handles for a horse hair and one other Boar knot. Horse 140 mm and the Boar 120 mm. Both lofts 55 mm.

I have yet to decide on finish for them.

That is really nice work @bald as - well done indeed! I respectfully vote for Tung Oil as the finish - both woods have a handsome grain, and just need subtle enhancement to make them sing :whistle: The handle on the boar looks very ergonomic and comfortable.

Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil​

I had such a great shave today - so happy to be back with one of my favourite razors - it is simply a joy to use it!

The brush is a beast - I never whipped up Mystic Water so quickly - the load too max 20 sec and the lather was done in under a minute - the result can be seen in the lather shots

Post: alum, witch hazel, Myrsol plastic shave

WW whipped up a great lather from the Shaver heaven. I feel that the loft is a little too high, but bearable. It does handle most soaps of my collection without much of an issue though. Just need to load longer sometimes.

First time with the Timor. Not as sharp as the feather. I might have whipped up too thick of a lather, tends to clog up the merkur blade opening a little. Had to do 4 passes to get a closer shave. I'm going to try using a more aggressive razor tomorrow with the Timor. Shave was quite smooth.

Finished off with the alum and witch hazel, and then... the Myrsol plastic shave. It feels so good when you apply it on your face. I'm really loving this stuff now. Converted now.

@SydBJW sorry about your loss. I hope everything is okay now. Glad to see you back here.

Quick shave this afternoon. 2 passes both XTG in opposite directions. Probably should have done some touch up as I missed a couple of spots on my chin. Anyway, ended up with a SAS. Might try a sharper blade in the Rockwell with the same plate just to compare, hopefully I can dial it in better with a different blade.

@SydBJW Very sorry to hear about your father. Hope you and your family are doing well under the circumstances.
