New acquisitions:
Tabac shave cream
iKon X3 slant (head only)

Purchased these through Connaught Shaving. The X3 was from their “seconds” section, but there are no blemishes that I can detect; awesome. Can’t wait to try the slant, I’ve never used one before.

The X3 is an excellent razor but an interesting choice if you have not use a slant before. Be mindful that in my experience (and some here have echoed this opinion) this particular razor appears to work better at a shallower angle (handle further from the face) and the point where you cannot feel the blade at all but the razor is working appears to be the optimum angle. I found the angle to be less intuitive than some others.

Mail Call: 2 items arrived today

1. RazorRock Old Type Open Comb yep another open comb to drive this very soon

2. Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore Sapone da Barba shaving soap this smell amazing very soft to my nose and is not over powering the scent smell soft sweet to my nose and not very sweet it's Tabacco Toscano Colonia; think Toscano cigar with hints of vanilla, amber and a backdrop of eucalyptus and menthol. Now I know why @silver love this so much and no wonder the 200g jar must've driving him crazy, I hope this doesn't dry out my skin too much and I'm looking for to this shaving soap very soon with my new RazorRock Old Type OC.

Received the Bren handle and a new B&M Latha soap today from @shavetheman
Nicely packed, with a little sample pot as well - a nice gesture and much appreciated. Was shipped promptly, but then AusPost took their time <sigh>.

The Bren has a bit of heft to it, so I've upgraded the handle on the DE86 and getting ready for tonight's shave:

Mailcall - and a question.

The Ozark and SDM smell like I expected. The Barbershop is a beige colour and has a slightly sweet chocolate smell? I'm sure some Forum members have used this soap - is this the norm?

I hope this doesn't dry out my skin too much and I'm looking for to this shaving soap very soon with my new RazorRock Old Type OC.

I have been on the cusp of ordering it too, but I can't use the other Razo Rock soaps for the very same reason. The coconut oil in them drys my skin out to buggery and I get a nasty red reaction.

I'd love to hear how it goes when you use it and if you get the same drying effect, it's a soap I really want to try. The packaging and jar looks great too, much better than the usual design from RR Joe.

Just arrived. The black synth knot feels has very soft tips with nice backbone and created an excellent test lather. I'm extremely happy with the crazy beehive look. Kind of the opposite of the subtle, elegant WW brush that is currently being made.

My excuse is that it's coming up to Jewish New Year when us mob eat lots of apple and honey. So in a way it's a religious artefact.
