Hi all I have this beauty but don't know a hell of a lot about the make. Shaves beautifully but as I said I don't know much other than its a french make that's could have been early or late 20th century. Google wasn't much more help........

Anyone can shed some light?

G'day @Dan.05, only thing I can find out about it is that its from the same area that Thiers Issard razor are from. They where in production from early 20th century to 1954 and again from 1970 to 1980.
Hope this helps a bit

I was looking for a straight razor. I wanted something special. Originally I wanted a new razor but after speaking with a few guys on badger they convinced me to look for a vintage one. I found a pic of the scales in wood from another razor and asked who made them. Found the maker and it just so happens he purchased 2 of them to restore and sell. I asked if he had any good razors. Nice quality from a nice make that would look good with his scales. He showed me a pic of the razor and I really liked the look of it. I shopped around before I saw this one and when I did I had to have it.

Thanks. I saw the same from google but that's as far as I could get..... damn internet. Full of porn and not dates about my razor.........

She's a beauty mate. Little know about this manufacturer, Beaujeu Dumontel, and brand. Other than , as @Reegs has already said, they were manufacturing straight razors from 1930 to 1954 and again from 1970 to 1980. So you can probably date her to early in the 20th century I'd say.

Noting these guys were based in Thiers, France, they were in good company with the likes of Thiers Issard.

You've happened on a carbon 6/8" half hollow. So a nice grind and make,.

Enjoy her mate. She looks a fine companion for many years to come.

Thank you very much. Glad I picked a winner....... I'm really happy with the razor. It's been restored and has not a mark or pit anywhere. Also there is virtually no grinding of the spine from honing so whoever had her last looked after her. I had to get new scales but was in love with the wood one. I know it's not original but it is what I envisioned a beautiful vintage looks like. And it being the siana has such a lovely pattern in the blade itself. So I'm happy as Larry. And Larry must be a bloody happy guy because I am.
