Very sorry to hear that. My brother has been in and out of hospital with similar issues for years now. I know it's going to kill him unless he can get a handle on it himself - an outcome that looks increasingly remote. Nothing anyone else can say or do makes any difference.

I must say that experience has turned me right off the stuff...

My wife died six years after quitting the JD and Gilbeys. And all other booze for that matter. We used to call ourselves "Social drinkers." Trouble was, there was not much social aspect to four and a half years in and out of hospital wards.
