Unfortunately we are on the same curve as most European countries. Australia's cases double every three to four days. So very similar to Italy.
Plenty of local articles on these figures and what comes next.

@sealer maybe you can adjust some figures on your contact and in the rush they will be missed :)

I am not following numbers lately (I am in the field, picking apples), any web that you may recommend specific fr australia? (Europe is easy to follow to me). I hope it will still be possible top formalize my new position at uni or will end up eating just apples for months....

Hence independent institutions have acted against the governments advice because they sought independent specialise medical counsel.
Think we need to not overreact though heed advice from the medicos and unfortunately not from our elected leaders misdirection.

Yeah I'm not seeing that fractured response, from where I sit it is pretty coordinated BUT ...

... life is to short to get in a debate on any form of social media as it is a lousy medium for anything constructive to come out of it :)

OK guys - I am sorry, but I am shutting this down for now...

We are always happy to have a healthy debate going on here - but in this case there is enough madness going on worldwide and we don't want to fuel the fire...

Please refrain from now on debating the rights and wrongs of countries, politicians, medical advisors...they are what they are and the correctness of their actions can only be judged in the future.

Of course we love to hear your personal experiences, jokes about empty toilet paper shelves, etc etc etc - but please remain civil - many thanks for your understanding (y)
