Good info. I had a pixel 3 with a great camera, bought a new pixel 8 last year and it's worseIt's just an Oppo phone: horrible phone, but the camera is decent.
The aperture is always super wide so depth of field is always narrow, impossible to get anything in focusalthough... the wide angle lens is better!
Bevel set to finish on this new (to me) ED Wusthof 7/8. Still had the factory edge, so Shapton Glass 1k,3k,6k then koma and tomo nagura on this jnat.
This is my first spin with a blade above 6/8. Dunno if it was the blade or a well done bevel but the shave was super sharp and skin friendly. Turns out I am a fan of larger full hollows.

Google often do pretty well with their pixel phones. I know a lady who still hangs on to her Pixel 5 (I think) for that reason, and I've been quite happy with my Pixel 7, though sometimes I struggle to get a tight enough depth of field, and occasionally it has a tendency to oversaturate colours in portraits. It's sometimes worth trying some of the alternative camera apps available. I've had good results with OpenCamera in the past.Good info. Camera was great
This was shaving really well with a CF edge, but it had logged five shaves so I was thinking of a touchup. Loupe showed no edge degradation, so I went back to the Charnley with some light laps on WD40: HHT augurs well for tomorrow's shave.
Took the big Bengall to the Ark to try and bump the keenness up from the coticule edge. HHT suggests it worked!
Touch up: Ozuku with botan, koma and a shobu tomo.
More JNat action. This time starting from a freshly cut bevel. Iromono kiita with a diamond slurry → Ozuku with botan, koma, and then shobu tomo.
Touched up the Friodur 17: botan → koma → shobu on Ozuku.
Full progression: Tamagoiro awasedo with a tomo nagura → Iromono kiita with a diamond slurry → Ozuku with botan, then koma, and finally shobu tomo.
SK3 on a small thuringian. Cracking HHT!
Shapton Glass 2K → Shapton Kuromaku 5k → Naniwa Gouken 8k → Black Shadow slurry then lather → small blue Thuri. HHT was vicious!
This Bengall is going back into the Aotearoa Pass Around Box on B&B. I figured that a nice coticule edge on Sheffield steel would be about the gentlest introduction to straight shaving that someone could hope for.
When I started out, this was the razor that I used when I wanted to try out new angles and grips: it never felt like it would cut me. Hopefully, someone else discovers the delights of straights in 2025 the same way!

Blue thuringian arrived from the west island, so took it for a spin. Made a slurry with the small Escher and worked down to several dozen laps on water. HHT was superb; shave in the morning to see how it feels.
Removed the factory edge with a fresh bevel and then JNat progression.

It's all very nice to look in the mirror and tell yourself you don't look a day over 40, but then put yourself in someone else's shoes, and realise that yes, you do look over 60. 
Maybe we need a separate thread for such musings, so idle speculation from the halfbakery doesn't get buried in specialist discussions.
