This is a very recent acquisition via a fellow member sharing an auction link. It is a vintage Rooney re-knotted in Manchurian.

The specifications posted by the seller are as follows, however they posted them as approximations and gave no definitive answer as to the model.

Knot: 28mm
Loft: 51mm
Handle: 57mm

I am trying to determine the model number of this specific brush for the sole purpose of satisfying my curiosity. I plan to do a lot of internet forum searching for previous discussions of Rooney brushes in the hope that something turns up.

I begun my initial searching and remembered Sharpologist examined the Rooney brushes some time ago, posting this rather helpful typology of the brushes and their specifications:

A fairly comprehensive listing of brushes, as @Mark1966 rightfully pointed out to me in a discussion many of the Rooney models did not have specific names, we see this evidenced in the chart above making my research project a little more of a challenge.

I will post most of my research from this project here in this thread for the purposes of providing an archive of sorts for other members and future acquisitions to use as a base for their own work.

If anyone has any ideas as to the model number or indeed knows of it, I would appreciate your thoughts or input. From a comparison of the chart above, I can see that my brush is not immediately present there however this may be due to the sellers inaccurate or less than specific measurements provided. Once I have the brush home I will remeasure it with greater accuracy and see where that leads me.

I am also looking for a Rooney brush sticker if anyone per chance knows where to get one, I realise they will be a very scarce item and with that in mind I may just have one printed to scale based on existing artwork for sake of completeness.

This, my friend, is a vintage and not a modern brush, as you've noted.
That list is for modern brushes.
I'm not aware of a resource that lists their vintage brushes, in fact I can't say I've seen a vintage list for any manufacturer, including Simpsons.
Good luck with your endeavours :)
