I'm working my way through my blade samples from razormonster very very slowly. In fact, i've just finished with my 2nd blade of Crystals (I think it's a Crystal, it's a white plastic container, with no real identifying marks). Wasn't bad, but not quite sharp enough for me.
No idea how I will pick what I use next, blind folded and pick out of a hat?
My Semogue 830 is now much better than on the first few tries, seems to take longer to pick up soap than my cheap badger though.

If it has 'Made in Israel' on the blade, and in a dispenser with no paper wrapping each blade, it's a Crystal/Blue IP. The only other 'raw blade' dispenser is the GBE and each blade says Gillette on it very clearly.
Otherwise, if the blade is wrapped in paper, it's not a Crystal. If you want to post a picture of the blade an dispenser, I will I.D. it for you.
You could do that, I can't remember what I sent you but maybe try Sharks & Lord Platinum. before heading to Dorco, and then the Gillettes.
If you are going to use the Gillettes, go Superthin, Platinum, Greens, Yellows, GBE in that order. You will understand why once you get to the GBEs.
See I wasn't fussed by them at all. Probably needs to be put in the Slim or FatBoy and turned all the way to 9. They are a very smooth blade though, I found I was not able to feel them on my face and then added pressure until they cut me instead of my facial hair.

My shaving.ie turned up, 100 German Wilks, 200 Red IPs/Personnal Platinum, 200 Timor, 200ml Trumper Lime Skin Food, Tube of Trumper Violets, Alt Innsbruck sampler.
The Alt Innsbruck is actually quite nice. They say it has tobacco/menthol in the scent, smells quite nice actually. One of those old school scents but not heavy & leathery like Tabac. Quite a nice one and will be interesting to see how the ladies like it. Will consider buying a bottle.

Love the TOBS Jermyn Street AS scent. Looking forward to seeing how it goes tomorrow.
Also interested to try out the Israeli Reds in my new Muhle open comb razer - although that's going to have to wait a while 'cause I'm only on my second shave on the Bolzano that's in there. Would be a shame to waste it!

Liking the Yellows. Did a 3-shave test, the blade had more in it. Felt sharp enough to go ATG in the Slim so I did. Not great as I don't do too much ATG, need to practice technique..
Wanted to try some different blades, running the White Platinums in my NEW now, which I will follow with the Dark Platinums in the same razor so I can give a side-by-side review. I will more than likely run a blade each through my Slim too which is fast becoming my go-to razor, and maybe a shave through the DE86 also. The preliminary thoughts are that they are very similar blades but with slight differences in characteristics. Unfortunately the price for the Whites are over $1/blade delivered. I can get the Dark Plats for about 18c delivered.
Still have the Indian Greens and Black to test. The Russian Greens were decent blades but not as good as the Yellows for me. My feeling is the Indian Greens will eclipse the Russians for sharpness but lose some smoothness, and the Blacks will be a Yellow but losing a notch of sharpness for much improved comfort - not that the Yellow was uncomfortable. Just could have been better.
I am really waiting now for the Russian Blade shipment. The Vokshods are gaining plenty of popularity as an Iridium replacement. The Ladas blades also have their share of fans, some saying that they are better than Iridiums for them. Pricing is reasonable at $16.50/100 out of a reseller in the US and postage charge was $5 flat rate (even international) and britva.eu wanted 19 Euros (something like $26) postage charge for the same order. It simply costs too much to send from Latvia.
As for the 'other' Rapira blades, they are cheaper than what they are selling the Super Stainless (Cyan, Black and Magenta) for at Britva.... so I am thinking they may be WORSE than the Super Stainless. Still, the Rapira SS at Britva are expensive when you can get 400 of them from Turkey for just under $30 delivered (that's 7.25 cents per blade, and they shave well for me).

Just snagged a Gillette 1971 Super Adjustable for $15 on fleabay. I've got my eye on a few others at the moment too. My housemate is moving out on Monday (Fkn wooo!) and we get the larger bathroom as well as the ensuite - so my GF has given me the all clear to turn it into my own personal shave den bathroom - so I'm finding some nice looking razors on the interweb to have out on display. I intend to rotate them through use as well, but for the most part I intend to keep them nice and polished up and on display.
(she doesn't know it yet, but the bathroom has no outside windows - so I also intend to make it a dark room for film photography - we'll cross that bridge when we come to it

The brush is a nice little thing, it fits nicely into the hand - bristles are very stiff. Got some work ahead to soften them.

Is that Omega the 10029 like mine? The number is on the box. The handle is actually plastic but seems okay, but I believe the bristle is actually trimmed so unlikely to split much.
