Observation today, I don't think I loaded long enough and probably insufficient water. Lather wasn't as glossy and slick as usual, and starts to dry out when I started shaving. I might have mucked around lathering the face too long as well to try to get the brush to lather explode. Imo, if I started with a damn wet brush, results are usually better with the Shavemac 177 and tallowate soaps
Second observation, regarding the second picture here, I usually use paint motion, but this time I splay it a little and the massive mound of lather appears out of no where. But this lather although it looks good in photos, it certainly doesn't shave as well as the usually drippy lather I get from B&M.
So start wet and some elbow grease is the way to go for me.
It's great @silver, the main scent is orange, but paired with the cedarwood and black pepper it kind of gives it woodsy note to it. Definitely worth buying
