Need More Room

All moved in now. I engaged the local Men's Shed to move all my worldly possessions and donated $600 to them.

Since the move, I have been unpacking and getting things organised. still a bit more to do but I'm getting there.

The house came fully furnished, like refrigerator, washing machine, lounge, dining suite, TV, beds, etc. I had all that from my farm shed but the house stuff was in almost new condition. I ended up giving my old unwanted stuff to the poor.

The vendor was asking AU$300k for the house. It took some months for him to come down to all I could afford, AU$240k. Location is about 1km from the centre of town.

Levy still has difficulty herding the stock in the back paddock.

SHAVING CABINET
The house came without a shaving cabinet. It was on my list of things to do.

A few months ago I worked out what I wanted in a shaving cabinet. Due to its location, the mirror needed to be on the inside of the cabinet door. I spent a few week sourcing all the material second-hand, except for the mirror that I had to buy from the local glazier ($15). Using only my hand tools, I completed the cabinet in about two weeks. This included paint and glue drying times. Yesterday I borrowed a hammer drill and masonry bit from a friend and this morning mounted my new bathroom cabinet.

One thing that I learnt in mounting this cabinet is that Philippines concrete hollow blocks are much softer than ones in Australia.

One advantage of having the mirror inside the cabinet is I have found that it does not fog up after a shower .

I have completed my setting up of the guest's bedroom.

I built the desk and bookcase out of recycled timber and built the wardrobe from purchased materials. The bed with mattress (king single size), TV and curtains came with the house. All the other stuff I purchased new locally. That bed is goot for two, if they like to cuddle up .
