Well, fck me. This actually got over the line too. I thought this was AM radio suicide fo'sure. The producer got what he wanted; Doris and Bernard spat their coffee across the nursing home common room. The switchboard was swamped with torches and pitchforks. Some bloke said he'd turned off the station and wouldn't return til I was gone, and that my music was an abomination upon mankind.

Seems I'm the new king. The prestige seem somehow...lacking. The mrs rolls her eyes, my friends are indifferent, and the kids complain I haven't played any Katy Perry.

Personally I think you should just carry on, become a radio legend, get your own radio program, TV show, a few guest appearances on the Big Bang Theory (I'm sure there's an opening there for a shave nerd) and before you know it you'll be hosting the Oscars.

I'd love to keep going, I'm not dry yet, but people are fickle and they'd tire of me. I'm putting in a weeks worth of tracks and calling it quits. I'm going out rocking, and hope I get to friday as Foo Fighters will sign me off.

Also appears I got a bit ahead of myself. I only cracked the record today, so I wonder why they asked to chat to me last week? perhaps they didn't think I had anything left in me after Killing Joke and Fever.

This pissed it in in a matter of minutes. I suspected at some points they might have been helping me along, as some punters suggested there were AEC shonky practices going on, but they deny any meddling.

Lots of nice comments about my taste in music - they were indundated with positives for the Chilis and some of the riskier stuff I played. I thought I could have run out of luck by rocking out all this week, instead of mixing it up. But not so. One guy did call and said he wanted to vote me off in spite - he only lasted 1 day on his run.

So I get to my farewell track tomorrow. The Foos will have their day on Nanna AM, and lyrics will be a fitting sign off. I'll miss it, it's been a lot of fun, and nice that so many people have got into my picks. If I'd have known I only cracked the record Wednesday, I might have just kept going til the death. Perhaps better to leave them remebering you fondly, rather than the pick that killed you off.

Yeah...Come Alive, another great track and that only makes it to no 29 on my most played Foos. The title might seem a bit hopeful for a judge in a nursing home. How about the more appropriately titled DOA? Strangly enough my most played Foos. The drumming is just insane. Any excuse to spout Foo.

Come Alive is getting up there as my favourite FF tune. 71 plays on my library, but that doesn't count the ones on the phone and the CD in the car - it gets hammered; a bit like a lot of my radio picks, few will have heard it, but it's a monster. Not too hard to learn to play, but I've so many tunes I'd love to learn, and not enough time or anywhere loud enough to play them to get the Grohltastic effect required.
