... Had I done the TM it would have been excellent.

Goes without saying really!

Plug - sink - in in in.
Water tap - on on on
...
TM shave - excellent excellent excellent.

(I must take more of these anti stutter tablets) :)

MATE - be carefull, don't ALL your secrets away!

So today was first shave after three days.
Polsilver SI
R41
Smoggie brush
Tobs Eaton Cream
Tobs Eaton AS

Beautiful smooth shave.
I vastly prefer shaving in cooler climates than warm. The skin just reacts better.

Apparently reports of Juggy's demise were greatly exaggerated!

ARKO!
Schmoog 830
Slim (7)
PermaSharp Super (x? Can't remember somewhere between 2 and 5)
Pro-raso Splash

Just a quick 2 passer for Monday start. Haven't used the slim for a while and the TTO & adjustment was a bit notchy and stiff. May be time for it to have a
good soak and a blast in the ultrasonic cleaner.

I love that film with Harrison Ford where he's searching for the ARKO! of the covenant and all those Nazi's who don't like the ARKO! have their faces melt off :)

Yeah, I like that one too. Saw some daft ancient history program the other night and they're claiming that Noahs ARKO! landed on mount Ararat.....in.....you guessed it.....Turkey!!! So the Turks have had access to ARKO! for millenia. Amazing. Don't know why we're sticking an exclamation mark after the word ARKO! but I guess it reinforces how great this stuff is.

I've just switched back from a Schick to a Personna Plat blue, and had a much better shave than I'd with the vintage blade.

Now before you all start screaming blasphemy, I will qualify it by saying that I switched back to Proraso at the same time after finishing off another cream, and then following up with a soft soap sample, and think that was the majority of the reason why I managed such a nicer shave.

At least I hope so, or else I will be wondering what crack the rest of you are on with these vintage blade reviews.

Thems fighting words Eggie!

Thems fighting words Eggie!

Eggies are easy to break. On the other hand the number of people I've put off side with my Much Uvva Muchness classification of almost every blade I've tried doesn't give me a lot of leg to stand on.

Today's shave:

A Swede I knicked from the traveling box
My newish Red Tip from Mark1966
T&H 1805
My newly arrived Simpson Commodore X1
Thayers Witch Hazel
and some Aqua Velva I got off fleabay a few weeks ago..

The new boys on the block today were the Swede and the Simpson brush. The Simpson is only a little bugger, much smaller than the boar Omega that I have been using, but for an uncultured face lathering, shower shaving neanderthal such as myself, it was bloody perfect! It lathered up a treat and held plenty for my usual 2 1/2 passes without lather flying everywhere as is the case with the Omega. My first impression was I could really feel the backbone in the Simpson compared to the Omega which just kinds of squashes into my cheeks.

The Swede? Meh... Can't see what all the fuss is about personally.. Did no better a job than the Astra SP it replaced and didn't feel as smooth. Compared to a Spoiler? We're talking Ferrari's and pushbikes. :P

The Aqua Velva? It's as cheap as chips and has been around forever but it's a real aftershave. It brings back memories of my grandfather (doubt he actually ever used it as AFAIK it has never been widely available in Australia, but he used something similar) and even after 20 years, I still miss him.

I had a similar memory of my grandpa when I smelled the Speick A/S in the travelling box, JayDee. It's always surprising when a scent prompts a strong memory, but it was nice to hope that the fella shaved properly.

Interesting what you say about the backbone in your Commo, I've noticed the same with my new Duke. It's just a whole class above the TGN silvertip I've been using. I really wasn't expecting it to be as dense or stiff, it made very short work of the Mike's Natural soap bar. Loaded as quickly as my Omega.

It's so nice to be free of partial stupefaction.

Please tell me the Spoiler fits in there somewhere (take whatever meds work for you first of course).

The Spoiler is up there with the Shicky. Maybe the top mark should be Shick/Spoiler. I just think the Shick is a tad better.
