Fantastic shave no sting just BBS all the way. Such a simple razor, light weight no frills, but with a sharp blade and the long handle getting the right angle is sooo easy. I'm really thinking of picking up a 100 of these blades ImageUploadedByTapatalk1419033141.641868.jpg
 


Tried the P.160 today. Another great product very similar to CELLA, the same scent but maybe a little stronger.
I have used the 37c 3 days in a row now and have had 3 of the most comfortable shaves i have ever had.. When i get my 30C in 5 days, cant wait to see if it will dethrone this.

Glad it's working out for you. I think with me I just found switching with the feather meant my angle was off when I returned to the 37c.
 
I have herd a few people of late mention that they dont get on with less aggressive razors. Im wondering if this is the case for me as the EJ DE89 is a mile behind in comfort to the 37c IMO.

Post-shower shave (as 95% of all my shaves are) but thought I'd play around with my theories about what if any benefit pre-shave soaps might have - by applying sorbolene to my face first (used this as it's around 10% glycerin and I theorise this is the main benefit in preshave soap). Bowl lathered and then just painted the lather(which was excellent and smelt devine! After initial concerns about this scent - as it's not the same as MNS Bay Rum - I now like it very much!) on (did this rather than face lathering to hopefully not remove/rub off the sorbolene layer.

Worked very well - I'd say a tad better in the post shave feel (obviously you'd have to do perhaps just 1/2 your face to really be able to compare properly) but I think it's something I might do more often and would also benefit folks with very sensitive skin.

The Astra wasn't great in the Redtip - felt a tad lacklustre after using the R41 for several days. Bowl lathering with the synth (or any synth I suspect) is super simple and you can really get a wonderful yogurty lather in no time. Amazed how little loading of the CRSW I need to get a lot of lather - significantly less than other soaps.

Technique is key. IMHO it's the single biggest factor in wet shaving.

Blade: P74 - shave 7
Soap/Cream: Proraso Sandalwood cream
Aftershave: Old Spice

I stopped using the P74 half way through at attempt to take two days growth after I was sick. It was pulling and tugging and not pleasant. Slipped a Lab Blue into the Slim an it was fine so have been using them since.

Decided I was well enough to give the P74 another run in a different razor - the old #58. Better results than in the Slim on 6 but still not what I would call smooth, certainly occasional tugging.

While I'm loathe to make a call on just one blade, it could be a dud, overall I've not been impressed with the P74. It has been one vintage blade that didn't live up to the hype ...

Braved my first shave four days post chin slice. No repetition of my previous carvery, and some lessons learned...
Lesson 1: wet shaving demands complete concentration,
Lesson 2: as above stressing at all times,
Lesson 3: Unlike the cars of my Sydney Western Suburbs youth, razors don't like going sideways.

Disappointing about the P74 Mark. But then I couldn't get it to work in my Fatboy Executive either. Although I did only give it the one try in that.

Yeah I'm not willing to call them all yet and certainly better in the 58 than the Slim. Given all the hype they cannot be rubbish so I'm thinking bad luck with this one.

Has saved me from thinking of them as a get at all costs blade though....

Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra (GBE) [5]
After-shave: Myrsol Agua Balsamica (spiked with 444)

Enjoying the Plisson- I definitely see what others enjoy about it! The Queen Charlotte soap whipped up into a creamy mass of lather. Great unusual scent of frankincense and myrrh (perfect for Christmas). It's fit for a king! [emoji6] Thanks @Nonick for the royal treatment.
The GBE blade is still going well for me. Got to love spiking the Agua Balsamica with 444 balm for a refreshing menthol hit. Perfect for the other end of the year when you don't need to worry about scuttles...
