Lovely badger brush there mate

Did you SHAKE the OBRS before application? It is a must with these.

I'm sure if you don't like it @borked will not be far away ...
...no I really liked it actually. Just noticed a big difference in the Sandalwood vs. Limes and Peppercorns - the latter is thinner and more drying and the other more viscous and moisturising. Quite complementary...

...I assume they are both ASes?

.....oh yeah and I shook them up good. I learned this from the PCTB2...with the burn from the Limes and Peppercorn. Youzzer!

BTW: how do you extract the drops required - the open tops are hard to meter....

Brush: Omega 10005
Soap: Stirling glacial obsidian
Razor: Eclipse Red Ring
A/S: Alcolado Glacial

I was going to try one of my other new Stirling soaps, but I've not yet managed to migrate a few of the new soaps from the scooter into the house.

I just love the cooling the glacial obsidian offers. The face rinse in cold water after the shave make the water feel around 10 degrees instead of high 20s.

The only slight issue is that you might not fell any mistakes you make until it's too late.

None made in this case and I'm enjoying the cool breezes for a while.

Did a MTM this morning. That's a Modified Thomas Method.

4 days growth so the PureMan Proto OC was loaded with - a 7OC Yellow. Well that's what I pulled out of my under the sink box of assorted blades. a Shrug and a "yeah, that'll do," I went to work on it with the Plisson Synth and some Proraso Red and then started to mow things down.

Blade felt very sharp and not smooth at all, but definitely slashed away all the growth efficiently. After the first pass I lathered up again and grabbed the Fatboy with a 1-shave Vintage Wilkie in it. Much nicer!

All together a good shave but felt a little raw in places so the Alum met my face. Stings-A-Penty.

Brush:
1305
Soap: Jabonman Brisa de Oriente
Razor: Weber
Blade: Feather (3)
Post-shave: Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes and Peppercorns (OBRLP)

Big night tonight so I went my current favourites. As anticipated all was excellent - might have claimed perfect but I'm leaving a little room in the hope that the AS-D2, when resident, will raise this bar even higher. Virtually BBS...with a few spots left to improve.

....yep it all vindicates my decision to tear asunder the fetters and be sabbaticalled no more! Viva Liberté

Brush: Simpsons Classic 1
Razor: Rocket HD
Blade: English Wilky (3)
Soap: Penhaligons Sartorial
A/S: GFT Skinfood
Cologne: Blue Stratos

Nice shave with the Sartorial soap, it's been a while since its seen any use, but it's just as good as I remember it. I think I might actually be down to the last few days of GFT Skinfood, not bad milage considering I bought it in September 2011 and it was my only A/S for the first 6 months of DE shaving.

@Nightguard is that the limes one ?
What do you rate it after years of use ?

Certainly not the Limes, it's the Coral. I've always liked the GFT Skinfood, but I prefer A/S splash to balms, the GFT Skinfood is a very good compromise between the 2, nice sting and very good face feel after it drys off. The 100ml bottle I bought back in 2011 has had about 10% remaining for a long time now and I'm really trying to use it up. The Sandalwood version is identical in performance to the Coral but the Limes really burns my face for some reason, a shame as it's the nicest scent of the 3.

I've a sample of the limes and didn't find it burns, so guess I'm lucky, it is a lot more viscous than the average A/S or splash, so is a compromise between that and balms.
Just have not came to a conclusion regarding scent or performance and wondering where others rate it and against what/positives/ptitfalls.

Brush:
Omega 49
Pre-Shave: Occams Original pre-shave soap
Soap: The Beach
Razor: The Wolf
Blade: PolSilver SI (1)
Post-shave: Moroccan Organic Argan Oil

Nice warm day today so I thought this might be one of the last chances for The Beach this season. Such a great scent and glide!

Tons of lather with the mighty 49, what I just don't understand is people saying, that boars are as soft as badgers. They must have leather skin - seriously, I love my 49, but it is no way near as soft as my badgers.

Thoughts on the Wolf again in the appropriate section - but as a teaser: it can bite you!

Mate I thought the same using the Omega - 31025 in my case, whose tips just won't yield - then I tried the Semogue 1305. The tips on the 1305 (90% tops) is softer than my Thater silvertip, no BS! And then I hear a SOC is even softer again. I'd be concerned about loss of backbone beyond the 1305 though.

Seriously mate you gotta try one if/when you get the chance....well you got to try one with at least 30 lathers under its belt...you know when they start looking like this...

I had a SOC, broke it in and it was the softest boar I had (and super floppy) - but even my WD is softer and you are saying it is softer than your Thater!!!!

I guess this is a real case of YMMV - but I never thought it could vary by that much...

I've not got an SOC but the 1305 I got is softer on my face than my Thater - which is 100% softer than my old Duke 2 in Best. There is absolutely zero scritch to the tips of the 1305. The only brush softer in my cabinet is the Plisson synth.

Brush: Duke 2
Razor: Rocket HD
Blade: English Wilky (4)
Cream: GFT Limes
A/S: TOBS Victorian Lime

A really nice warm weather shave today. The TOBS Victorian Lime is great way to finish off any shave and it pairs well with GFT Lime.

Son of Peach SOTD

Brush: Plisson L'Occy Synth
Soap: Shaver Heaven Green Tobacco
Razor: Merkur 34C (Chip off the old Block)
Blade: Gillette Platinum
After-shave: Thayers Witch Hazel & Myrsol Blue

Son of Peach (SoP) completed an unassisted shave today. Previous shaves were either done by me or he was nagged to death on the virtues of getting great lather coverage or how to hold the razor to achieve the optimum cutting angle. This time he politely asked me to shut my beak and leave him to do his thing. He chose the above. The only non-negotiable was the cleaning up of the basin upon completion.

The lather started off a bit runny but that Plisson worked it's magic and within no time he whipped up a decent lather. He loves the fragrance @Anthony .

My eyes welled up in tears with his choosing of the 34C. This lad is going places. With extreme care he managed a 2 pass BBS shave without a nick. The razor went in all sorts of directions in negotiating the tricky parts of his face but he's on his way.

Initially he decided on Alt Innsbruk but at the last minute changed over to the Myrsol. A look of self satisfaction in the mirror and he was back to his Playstation. Proud Dad was sitting on the can for the entire time watching his every move and thinking about how fast SoP had grown up.

...and if you were wondering, I could have eaten off that basin after he had completed wiping it down.
