Pre-shave; Warm shower, face rinse with MWF bar soap.
Brush; TroyCraft, ‘’
Gold n Jar’’ Jarrah hardwood and pure Gold flake resin handle, highly polished with a CA finish and a 26mm (x TF), 2 band Finest Badger knot. (
Brush No 4) Grail.
Soap; Woolly Wash Soapery, Lana’s
‘’Old Spice dupe sample’’ in a NOS “Grand Turk” Shulton shave mug, late 02 design 1964-78.
Razor; Alpha Shaving, Spirit SE in C954 polished Bronze.
Blade; Schick, Proline P30.
Post-shave; Shulton, Old Spice Original, milk-glass bottle, 6.37oz (
Bottle style 1996)
Cologne;
Moisturiser;
Attar (Perfume Oil);
Shave; I have been shaving with a ‘’sample’’ from Lana
@WoollyWunder based on her interpretation of Old Spice (OS) shave soap from a small slither of a ‘60’s soap I sent her. My sense of smell is not the best, so after receiving and sniffing the sample, SWMBO was asked “
what soap smelt the nicest and post shave what she’d like me to smell like’’ from the dupes I have. B&M Reserve, PAA Cold Spices, Soap Commander, Stirling and now Woolly Wash Soapery.
Blind ‘’testing’’ resulted in;
1st; B&M Reserve.
2nd; Woolly Wash Soapery.
3rd;Soap Commander.
4th; Stirling.
5th; PAA.
Obviously as in all things ‘’shaving’’
YMMV.
I believe there are enough Forum members who are using her soaps that are more eloquent in their descriptions, so I’ll only say
‘’the glide (slickness) and cushion is there for my weekly Kamisori shave, if I can’t use a Kami comfortably I don’t use the soap.’’
If Lana puts this into production I would have no hesitation purchasing, instead of using my dwindling genuine OS stock, not quite the original scent (
there never will be again?) but very close and pleasant and Aussie made.
