Shave of the day

If so, I will repent, chastise myself and plaster the walls of my house with pictures of gondoliers.

Good start :D

Sorry, but that ain't gonna happen. Just finished another round of Cella with the NEW. I guess I'm just confirming that Cella isn't Tabac or Speick. But I knew that anyhow. It's just highlighted more with a razor that needs maximum glide. And Cella just doesn't deliver on that front. Can I now go back to my trusted SEs? Never a problem there.

Cella (No ton for Sachin! )
830 (I'm starting to feel bad that this brush works for me)
Rocket HD
Derby
Witchhazel
Nivea Sensitive ASB

Ah Derby how I have missed thee.

We welcome you back from your visitations on the Dark Side Pjotr. Stay awhile and enjoy the sound of your shave whatever you wipe on your face first.

It's not just the dog that needs a shot of something.

With a trigger fingered Mod that has just had his first taste of power, I had to tread very softly - Still I think I have exhausted creative writing for the little while (unless someone puts temptation back in my path).:)

Back on the SE track:

TGN best knot in a travel brush. As you can probably tell a lot of my brushes are no-name re-knots.

Speick stick

Featherweight with GEM ptfe coated blade.

Bliss. Although I had to remind myself how f....g sharp these blades are when fresh. Trusted Flying Wing next. Maybe a Streamline. Not sure yet. Gotta keep the readers enthralled and in breathless suspence and anticipation.

All standard (almost)
Cella - the best of the best - Using tecnique 423 from page 997 from Mark(C)o's book.
Big chinese badger nothing like lottsa brush first thing in the morning (means it is really hard to miss your face if you have had a hard night).
Shave three with the Gem SE blade
NEW STUFF ALERT - Gem Clogpruf razor - first time - love it.
Cleaned up with th Slim and Indian Wilkinson
Slapped on the Musgo and good to go!

I found a whole lot of samples I got a while back - so I'll be playing a bit over the next little while. For today though:

Merkur 38C (Barber Pole) - my first DE, a birthday present that started it all
Personna Blue Labs - shave one
TOBS Rose - see below
A/V Musk - why can't they put a decent pourer on the these?

As usual with TOBS creams the rose is effective and a little bit goes a long way (typical!) Why oh why though would a bloke want to use a rose shaving cream?

This stuff smells of that typical cheap rose deodouriser smell, sweet, cloying and sickly. Unlike 99.99% of soaps the scent lingers!! Of course, the one soap I really don't like and the smell lingers.

Thinking of what might work with the rose I grabbed the A/V musk. Now this bottle has a hole the size of a 20c piece I'm sure. There is some rule of physics broken here and the hole must be bigger than the container - it just goes everywhere no matter how hard you try - probably just the marketing department trying to get more product used.

Good result but I didn't really enjoy the process. Maybe I should just use Cella?

Of the TOBS I found the rose and lavender to be both longest lingering and least desirable.

Ironic huh.

They're nice razors. Why don't you try it for the whole shave. It might ween you off the TM.

Yeah, rose scents are a bit over the top. Actually I think most creams have too powerful a scent.

And here I am thinking that everything I have tried so far is quite muted in smell (except for the palmolive)

From what I've tried so far, strong scent goes hand in hand with soap softness. I guess it makes sense from a chemical point of view. Perfumes are invariably in liquid form. So, if you like strong scents, keep getting soft soaps/creams.

Yep! Big irony!

Allright, today's gear:

TGN finest Frankenbrush. One day I'll post pictures of my more obscure brushes.

Speick/Tabac/MWF triple soap.

Flying Wing with GEM PTFE (No 2).

I will have to give that some thought. What I will need to when the next lot arrive is not only identify some of my SEs but I know you gurus suggest some are not the best shavers so I might put up the photos (there will be about 10 SEs by then) and seek some advice. In the meantime I can see me getting more shaves per blade out of this than the Featherweight - which is a good thing.

Merkur 38C (Barber Pole) - had a meeting today, leaving being adventurous until tomorrow
Personna Blue Labs - shave two
TOBS Avocado - the next in the sample to try
Simpson Milk Churn - funk fading, thankfully!
Old Spice Whitewater - which I was given yesterday at a catch-up with some B&B guys here in Canberra. You can read a review of it on YKW here. Great bottle too!

Applied later, after checking the mail, GFT Eucris Cologne - not sure about this. Got most of a bottle cheap on YKW so am giving it a try

Back to the TOBS Avocado. Yeah it works great but I can't see why everybody raves about it. Other TOBS work as well and have a better scent IMHO. Nah, nothing special (we are SOOOOOO fickle aren't we)

Same again today. Hadn't used the triple soap for a while and it was quite dry before. Worked a treat today. The Flying Wing aka Bullet tip is an absolute beast. Sexiest looking razor out there too.

Keeping my eye out for one but they all seem to go above my el cheapo budget - still patience will pay.

Heading for the LC right now, after all TOS Too have it as the razor of the month...
The last shave was MWF with the 1305, I will do the same again tonight.

I'm having another no shave day, waiting for these spot like bumps to calm down a little before i put a blade anywhere near them, and irritate them even more.
