Yes, buying the shoes is only the start.
If you get decent shoes you need shoes trees according to most 'experts' such as The Shoe Snob, and Business Insider. Even eBay has a buying guide.

They don't claim to be cedar like many others but I've noticed a lot which say 'cedar wood' and then in the description refer to 'cedar wood fragrance' - so I have my suspicions. Certainly you can get a lot of similar products at around the $25- $30 range which seem acceptable to me.
