Sydney - Straight Razor Honing

Team - all 3 of my SRs need touching up. I seem to be making a dogs dinner of it. Are there any P&C members based in Sydney that would mind donating a little of their time to give me some 1:1 tuition?

Plan B - post them back to Richard lol

I am also from Sydney and also very interested in some lesson👍🏻

A couple of years ago, I ran an online course in honing using lapping films. The course took you from bevel-set to shave-ready. Five started, four completed the course and three succeeded in getting good shave-ready edges.

The course was done privately for B&B members via email (including video attachments) from both myself and the students. It was rather a slow process but it did work.

If either of you or any others on P&C are interested, I am willing to teach you edge refreshing using either whetstones, lapping films, diamond pasted balsa or a combination of any of them. Just send me a PM and we will get started.

That would be great.
My only concern is that I have watches multiple tutorials on youtube. The problem is:
1. How to control pressure.
2. Feedback. I am repeating movements but when guys start saying that they feel something is wrong or now is great or that the stone is sticky. I feel nothing😂
I need only to improve my refreshing skills. For a bevel set I will bette send the razor to you. I think I am not going to collect many more razors and do not have any stones to do that. I have only naniva 8000 and 12000 and canvas belt with a bunnings green paste.

Ok. I'll get an email off to you tomorrow morning and get things moving.
