This thread,and others here, has set me on path toward wanting a watch.Nothing expensive though yet something that would give me a good start as I have only ever had two watches in my life and they were when I was just a lad.Managed to get the car registered with very little needed to pass,took the girls shopping today and happened to stop at a jewellers and look in the window.Noticed a Citizen on 50% discount.A couple of hours later went back and got it.

AN353052L. 44mm so quite large but sits well and doesn't look too big at all.

It isn't a Grand Seiko SBGJ227G,but it's a start.(I will get one of those one day.)

So I was gifted this from a family friend who exclusively wears Breitling now.
Was not expected and being a radio set watch, figuring out the manual settings for all the features is going to be a bit of an experience.
23mm lug is an interesting band size too...

Yet there's an itch that I fear only one of the following three will scratch.
An ETA 7750 based movement, which for those with some knowledge of mechanical movement history will be aware of, basically saved the mechanical movement from demise around the quartz era, and is now found in many mid to high end brands, is not helping either!
Anyone here actually own one?

Watchgooroo on eBay (does anyone know of their non eBay website, or for their parent company GSD Global Inc?) is likely to do these around the 700 mark with best offer from my experience, which is insane for the watch you're getting.

I have a Fortis Flieger Professional Chrono with the 7750 movement. Have owned others in the past also. The 'wobble' it is known for makes the watch feel alive at times.

How pronounced is the wobble?

Seen we're talking watches this is my baby. I'd wanted a 'good' watch for so long and went in to buy a Tag Heuer Le Mans. I'd been looking for a long time and was in a position to finally buy it. I went into the shop and at the last minute changed my mind. Instead I walked out with this, 1948 Omega Seamaster Remake...if you've seen my picture taking skills you can see why I stole this from the web. I also have a vintage 1939 Rolex and 50's Tissot. The Rolex has Australian made case (Handleys in Melbourne) with a Rolex movement. This was due to taxes on gold.
I love my watches (my Grandfather was a watch maker at Handleys) and I'm lucky enough to wind the old clocks at work as part of my job. All of which are over 100 years old.

@Rami . I had this serviced and restored at a supposed reputable watch shop in the city. As you can see the second hand is missing. I know have a better on and will send it off to be repaired again one day soon. It was purchased in 1939 in a shop in Sydney Road Brunswick and given as an 18th present to my Great Uncle in 1944 from his mother (engraved on back).
