Elite razors (Bob Quinn) Manchurian?

Heard great things about it - not tried it myself though....

I've been doing a lot of reading tonight and will probably bite the bullet and order a 26mm manchurian fan from Bob tomorrow. I sent him a message asking about drill depth and he responded in about 15 mins. My thought process is around the tips and backbone. From what I've read both the Envy White and Elite Manchurian are similar, with the Elite trading some backbone for tip softness, and this is what I'm looking for.

This is something I'm unsure about. My Envy White is scrubby, but very soft. I wouldn't want it with less backbone. I may stick with another Envy White, in 24mm set at 48 for some real backbone. Although those Elite Razors brushes look excellent value for money. The wooden handled ones in particular look great.

@Psmith what loft length you had before?

@Psmith I thought the 54mm loft wouldn't be scrubby as you said above.

How does it compare with the shavemac or paladin?
It has very soft tips, with a good level of scrub. The Shavemac 2 band (and Paladin) get their backbone from a very strong hair I think. They have a very clean fan shape that hasn't bloomed much. The Envy White has backbone from density, the individual hairs aren't so strong. Much has been written about how much backbone this knot has, but I think it has just the right amount, certainly not over the top backbone. It certainly has no scritch. It feels very different to the Shavemac 2 Band and Paladin, and I'm pleased with that.

Now you're swaying me back to the envy white :)

Have you guys thought about a TGN finest? I have one in a Doug Korn handle, that has a TON of backbone...and is a monster latherer.

I got a very good deal on it on would consider letting it go (I am a softy) - planed to put it up today anyway, so shoot me a PM if interested...
