P.160 Morbido
Semogue 830 (If you move the decimal point a few places you have the maximum COR for a golf driver. Phwoar! )
Merkur 34C
Schlicky (Lost count)

ASB

I discovered the underlying cause of my recent dissatisfaction with the P.160 - operator error :embarrest:

I chucked a splash of water on top of the tub before I hopped in the shower. Brush loaded super easy and I had 4+ passes worth of excellent lather. Obviously over time the soap has hardened a bit and I just wasn't loading enough product. Funny how you can forget the basic things!

I think i have found the one Shark blade that never loses its edge.

I'm on probably the twelfth or thirteenth shave with this and today I had a very close, smooth shave.

Still using Proraso Green soap, which is coming to an end...original recipe too, no more of that around!

R41
Shark
Proraso Green Soap
Semogue boar
Finished with La Toja AS.

Ok tonight I am taking that blade out...probably.

What soaps are next? I have some almondy Dr Pepper soap from earlier this year I am yet to use. Cella? P160?

Crazy! It's normally three and out with those.

The tube I've got is probably over a year old. And it probably would have hung around at the IGA I got it from for a year. So, it could well be old recipe. Name a time and place and it's yours.

I thought we agreed on this - I have a tube of Proraso Red to swapsie with.

Come to Belmont for a coffee, my shout. Let me know when.

Get a room why don't you?

I've still a tub of old flavour Proraso Green, hope the new stuff isn't really any different, it's still some of the best stuff going. Have tube of new red and it's been good though.

Been using the Simmo's Classic 1 since thursday, tying it out with all the soaps and stuff, going well. Not Chub-related issues with this one.

Ok I've changed the blades in my two main razors.

Out with the sharks and in with the Gillette Super Stainless I obtained from Mark.

Tomorrow is my first time with them - I notice they are made in Australia! How old are they?

Must give a report. I think I found the first shave so so and better on the second.

From the 1980s I think for some reason - not sure why though

I'm back baby! Great shave 8)

9 shaves from an Astra, more than one from a Shark??? Has the world tilted on it's axis?

It's shocking. Christ knows what they'd do with real blades. Shicksas will last three months. On that basis could I flog them for $10/pop.

Nicked myself with the new Gillette Super Stainless aussie blade this morning.

A good blade and the rest of the face is smooth but I must have had a bump on the face somewhere and it sliced the top off like a lumberjack.

I'm keen to go a ten shave period to see how it lasts.

When I have time I will start a review thread for it if there isn't one already.

[sigh] I wish more people just too my advice and bought things I'm selling!

Where the blood is coming out is a good indication of where the bump was ;)

Um, yesterday's report.....

Fatboy
Silver Blue - probably 4th shave I think
Proraso 'old' Green tube
Smoggie 730HD

Not too bad. A bit patchy due to being in a rush. Small nick under my chin too.

Coupla shaves:

Horsey brush
Tabac cream
Proraso red
Bullet tip with GEM SS on No 4
Bakelite DE with Gilette Swede on no 3

All good.

If it lasts a couple more I'm beginning to think that this blade is as good as a Spoiler. Maybe not as sharp straight off the bat but that's a good thing in my book.

Get a room why don't you?...........

After several aborted attempts Jug and I finally managed to find a room, which was shared by hundreds of others in the middle of Belmont Forum shopping centre, and we did the Green-Red Proraso swap. Forgot how good this stuff is. Not completely sold on the Sandlewood scent. Although the lingering scent after the shave is really nice, it smells a bit stale straight out of the tube. The lather more than makes up for this though. For me, a lot nicer than the green menthol version.
