Shave Report: Haslinger soap easily generates a rich & creamy medium density lather with excellent shaving performance from a classic style soap, great alternative now that MWF has closed up shop. To my nose the lather scent is a light pleasant floral herbal aroma, maybe a bit medicinal in a herbal way, scent strength 3/10. Wobderful clean easy going smooth shave from the Bison razor and Suneko blade, close to BBS.

  • Pre Shave: TriCare Goats Milk & Glycerin Soap (ALDI) [A]
  • Brush: TroyCraft “Arctic Sea” with 26/54 Yaqi Snow Leopard [A]
  • Soap: Haslinger - Ringleblumen (Marigold) Rasierseife
  • Bowl: Whispers From The Woods [A]
  • Razor: Karve Turquoise Aluminium Bison, made in Canada (Weight: 35gm with blade; Blade gap - 0.71 mm; Blade exposure - 0.06 mm; Handle - 90mm)
  • Blade: SUNEKO Amorphous Diamond Super Stainless, made in China (2)
  • Astringent: Jennai Aloe Vera Gel with Witch Hazel & Vitamin E [A]
  • Balm: G&M Australian Creams - Emu Oil MkII [A]
  • After Shave Splash: Blue Stratos AS Lotion [A?]
  • Moisturiser: MooGoo Natural Full Cream - Hydrate [A]

  • Soap The Goodfellas' smile Abysso (Sample thanks to a well known member )
  • Razor Velvet Mark II (Circa 1930s)
  • Blade Astra platinum
  • After shave Lucky Tiger Bay Rum
Hi all a very enjoyable shave this evening with the Velvet razor.
It shaves similar to the sixty's Gillette ball end tech (the nickel/brass one) just a bit more aggressive.
This is my third shave with The Goodfellas' smile Abysso soap it gives a rich creamy lather that doesn't dry out.
The scent is like Davidoff Cool Water "love it" I have the full size soap on order.
